Day Habilitation

Supporting Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, and non-verbal adults with diverse needs through skill-building, independence, and community inclusion.

Mill Neck Services
Day Habilitation

Founded in 2000, the Mill Neck Services Day Habilitation Program provides support to Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and non-verbal adults with diverse disabilities. Our program offers meaningful, engaging activities designed to assist individuals in achieving their personal goals and increasing independence in areas such as daily living, communication, social interaction, and leisure activities. Using a person-centered approach, we customize each participant’s experience to align with their strengths, interests, and individual needs. Our dedicated staff fosters a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals can build confidence, develop skills, and establish meaningful connections.

We offer both site-based and community-based services (Program Without Walls) throughout Long Island. Some of the ways we promote skill development and independence include volunteering at local community sites, which enables participants to gain work experience while contributing to the community. Activities such as meal packing for those in need, practicing office tasks, filing, and developing organizational skills provide practical opportunities to enhance vocational and daily living skills.

Our program operates in accordance with the guidelines of the New York State Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and is primarily funded through the HCBS Medicaid waiver.
