The Mill Neck Services Supported Employment Department is committed to helping Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, and multi-disabled adults access and succeed in meaningful employment opportunities throughout Long Island and the five boroughs.

Our focus is on empowering individuals through every phase of the employment process—while also supporting employers with tools for effective communication and inclusive hiring.

Job Exploration & Preparation
  • Resume building

  • Training in workplace expectations and etiquette

Communication Support
  • ASL interpretation and workplace accommodations

  • Support during interviews to ensure clear, two-way communication

On-the-Job Training & Retention
  • One-on-one job coaching tailored to each individual

  • Regular follow-up with both employee and employer to encourage long-term success

Program Funding

Mill Neck’s Supported Employment programs are funded through:

  • New York State Education Department’s ACCES-VR (Adult Career and Continuing Education Services – Vocational Rehabilitation)

  • Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD)
